“Serendipity and hard work are two sides of the same coin.”

I spent my childhood in small towns across the hills of Himachal. Moving cities (and schools) wasn’t always easy, but taught me the importance of embracing the unknown and persisting with hard work. At times, I had to be homeschooled for months on end. But quality education has been a mainstay for my family. My mother resumed her college studies in her mid 30s and father completed law school in his 40s, attending evening classes after work. Pursuit of a good academic environment brought us to Delhi. I grew up with a passion for physics, puzzling and cricket.

I started an experiential learning company in college. I would skip coursework to focus on building the business. It left me with an insatiable hunger to be around technology builders. While my founder journey was cut short, I decided to do the next best thing – work with early-stage founders. While most of my peers started their careers at McKinsey or in banking, I chose a less conventional path. I took up an internship at a technology investing focused family office to be around relevant people. Perseverance from thereon landed me at Peak XV, doing what I feel privileged to do – partnering with entrepreneurs.

All venture investors effectively seek the same thing – founders who are building enduring enterprises. Our investments often reveal interesting patterns of founder traits that excite us. Authenticity, adaptability, and personal experience are qualities that matter the most to me. I have been incredibly fortunate to partner with such founders across financial services, application software, and consumer internet.

What we do is as much about offering as it is about seeking. I bring deep founder empathy and a prepared mind across most themes of financial services. If you’re a technology founder or an operator, I would love to meet you.
